South Sudanese Christian Fellowship

South Sudanese Christian Fellowship

The Roanoke Valley South Sudanese community began a regular Sunday evening Prayer Service on Trinity Sunday, June 7, 2009, at St. James Episcopal Church. This is open to all Christian Sudanese.

The South Sudanese Christian Worship service is held Sundays at 5:30 p.m. in the parish hall of St. James.

Mission Statement

“Our fellowship’s message is based on the Bible; its mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination; to help South Sudanese children grow in faith and to do the will of God as children of God; to stand by our Christian families whenever there’s joy or sorrow.”

Leaders

The Rev. Samson Mamour is the leader for the South Sudanese Christian Fellowship.  The Rev. Susan E. Bentley, Rector of St. James, serves as the Chaplain for the South Sudanese community and assists with worship.  The service of Scripture, Music and Prayer is in Arabic and English.
